Biography

Katelyn D. Foster (Katie) joined Wise Carter as an associate attorney in July 2022. Katie’s practice focuses on commercial transactions, first- and third-party insurance defense and coverage, and workers’ compensation matters. She is dedicated to providing strategic, results-oriented representation for her clients, ensuring their business and legal interests are protected at every stage.

A proud graduate of the University of Montevallo, Katie earned her Bachelor of Science in History and Political Science, where she developed a strong foundation in critical thinking and analysis. While at Montevallo, Katie was also a member of the women’s soccer team. After completing her undergraduate studies in Montevallo, Alabama, she returned to her home state of Mississippi to attend Mississippi College School of Law, where she graduated summa cum laude, a distinction that reflects her academic excellence and commitment to the legal profession. During law school, Katie was recognized as a Hearin Scholar and received multiple American Jurisprudence Awards in Negotiations, Criminal Law, Administrative Law, Sales and Leasing, and Evidence.

Katie is admitted to practice in all Mississippi state courts, as well as the United States District courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Mississippi and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

Katie lives in her hometown of Brandon, Mississippi with her husband, Sherman, and their son, Braxton. Their family also includes two beloved dogs, Annie and Kylo, who keep life lively and fun.
