Wise Carter attorneys assist clients with a broad range of employee benefits and retirement matters. We consult with and assist clients to meet their retirement planning goals. For either large or small business clients, the Firm designs and prepares qualified retirement plans, including 401(k) plans, 403(b) plans, 457 plans, defined contribution and defined benefit plans, and money purchase pension plans. Wise Carter also prepares related administrative documents such as summary plan descriptions, summary annual reports and various notices. For clients that do not need individually designed plans, Wise Carter reviews and advises clients wishing to adopt prototype plans.

In addition to assisting in the design of retirement plans, we assist clients in obtaining determination letters for their retirement plans with the Internal Revenue Service. For individuals and small business clients, we assist in the establishment of Individual Retirement Accounts, Payroll Deduction IRAs, Roth IRAs, SIMPLE IRAs, Simplified Employee Pension plans and SIMPLE 401(k) plans to meet their retirement planning goals.

The Firm also counsels clients with respect to welfare benefit plans, including health, disability and cafeteria plans, non-qualified deferred compensation plans and Internal Revenue Code Section 409A compliance, stock option plans, executive compensation and COBRA coverage issues.
