Certificate of Need and Licensure
The
firm has represented numerous individuals before the State Board
of Nursing and the State Board of Medical Licensure. In addition,
the firm provides counseling to a wide variety of its health care
clients on licensure and certificate of need issues and provides
assistance in working with the various divisions of the State Department
of Health to obtain necessary certificates of need and licenses
for clients.
The
firm's attorneys also regularly counsel clients concerning the structure
and complexion of projects potentially impacted by the certificate
of need and licensure laws, regulations and health care facility
construction and operating standards. When contested and administrative
hearings are necessary in this administrative and regulatory arena,
the firm's attorneys have extensive experience in the conduct of
such hearings.
The firm also represents many of its health care clients and health
care associations relative to the policy side of the operations
of the Mississippi State Board of Health by attending the State
Board of Health meetings and the meetings of its committees and
participating in public discussion and influencing of the formation
of that policy and its language and the preparation of potential
regulations implementing that policy. |
