Government Contracts

Wise Carter attorneys assist a wide variety of clients in providing advice on compliance with state laws applicable to advertising, bidding, and implementation of contracts with state and local governmental units and with federal acquisition regulations applicable to federal government contractors. Assistance to contractor clients includes advice and help in preparation of bids, negotiation of contracts, handling bid award protests, change order disputes and contract claims.

Wise Carter also represents political subdivisions, such as county boards of supervisors and boards of trustees of community hospitals as buyers that must comply with state laws on acquisitions, construction, rentals and sales of public property. Wise Carter regularly works with the State Ethics Commission, the State Department of Audit and the Office of Mississippi Attorney General and obtains formal opinions on conflict of interest and other state laws when novel or unsettled issues arise for its governmental clients.
