In addition to the firm's litigation services, Wise Carter labor and employment lawyers provide clients with non-litigation assistance in the form of counseling regarding such employment issues as the termination of employees, layoffs, hiring, drug and polygraph tests, AIDS and other disability issues, fetal protection questions, rehires, and employee discipline questions.

Wise Carter also assists in drafting personnel policies, employee handbooks, and employment contracts. Wise Carter also offers planning, counseling, and certain administration services for pension benefit plans, welfare benefit plans, deferred compensation, executive compensation, and other employee benefit arrangements.

Labor and employment attorneys have specialized in retirement planning, counseling major employers offering defined benefit and defined contribution plans, including employee stock ownership plans (ESOP's), 401(k) plans, and financial institutions offering master and prototype plans.
