Antitrust and Trade Regulation

Wise Carter has been engaged in antitrust and trade regulation counseling and litigation for many years. It has represented clients in a broad range of businesses and industries, including firms engaged in such areas as television broadcasting, automobile dealership networking, wholesaling and retailing, health care, dairy products, cable television, retail franchise, and sales.

Wise Carter has experience dealing with federal and state antitrust statutes, including the Sherman Act, the Clayton Act, the Federal Trade Commission Act, the Celler-Kefauver Act, the Robinson-Patman Price Discrimination Act, the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act, and state antitrust statutes. Members of the firm also have experience in cases involving the interrelationship of antitrust and intellectual property laws, including patent misuse.

The firm also handles non-statutory antitrust and trade matters, such as employment contract covenants not to compete and disputes involving tortious interference with contracts, unfair competition and other business torts. The firm also has counseled clients on such matters as interlocking directorates, joint ventures and relations between manufacturers or suppliers, distributors and dealers.
