Biography

Doug Levanway is a Shareholder with Wise Carter.

He joined the firm in January 1980 following graduation from the University of Mississippi School of Law, where he served as the Articles Editor and Note Editor of the Mississippi Law Journal and competed as a member of the National Moot Court Team.

His practice consists primarily in serving electric utilities and energy companies in a broad range of areas. His practice includes representing electric utilities before the Mississippi Public Service Commission and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), assisting nuclear utilities with investigations involving the Office of Investigations of the NRC, representing utilities and individuals in “whistleblower” cases brought with the Department of Labor, and performing independent assessments of safety culture related issues for utilities. His practice also includes general employment litigation and environmental issues and litigation.

His hobbies include most things sports-related, reading fiction, and the occasional golf game. He and his wife Kathe are active members of St. James Episcopal Church.
